Both services discount yearly billing by about two months. PrintBase's yearly plans keep the monthly allowance, resetting each month; PrintNode states its yearly allowance per year.
Both services bill on prints per month rather than per printer. A shop with twelve label printers and 3,000 prints a month pays the entry tier; one printer running 40,000 shipping labels does not.
PrintNode bills overage per 1,000 prints; PrintBase pauses jobs at the plan limit and you move up a tier. Just past a tier boundary that makes PrintNode cheaper - from about 5,000 to 13,800 prints a month, and from about 25,000 to 76,700. At the included volumes, PrintBase is lower.
Both free tiers allow one computer. If you have four warehouse PCs and only 200 prints a month, the computer limit - not the volume - is what forces you onto a paid plan.
New PrintNode accounts get one month of unlimited usage; after that the free plan is 50 prints a month. PrintBase's free plan is 100 prints a month, permanently, with no card required.
